Privacy at roastme.gg
roastme.gg collects as little as it can get away with. There are no user accounts, no newsletter, and no ad trackers. This page describes everything the site stores and every third party that touches it.
What we store
When you buy a roast we store the handle or URL you submitted, the amount you paid, the generated roast text, a timestamp, and the Stripe checkout session id used to match your payment to your roast. The roast, target, amount, and timestamp are published on the Wall at a permanent public URL; that's the product.
Third parties
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers; we only receive confirmation that a checkout was completed.
Roast generation is done by Anthropic's Claude API. The handle or site you submit is sent to Anthropic to write the roast.
Analytics run on Vemetric, a lightweight product analytics tool, to count page views and link clicks. The site is hosted on Vercel and roast data lives in a Neon Postgres database.
Removal and questions
If you want your roast taken down, email alex@roastme.gg or contact @roastmegg on X with the roast URL and we'll remove it from the Wall, the sitemap, and the llms.txt archive. Removal requests are honored for the person who submitted the roast, since every roast is a self-roast. Any other privacy question can go to the same place; see the contact page for details.
